The project of ACCOMMODATION, REHABILITATION AND TREATMENT CENTER (KORETEM) was requested by KUANTUM TOURISM DEVELOPMENT COOPERATIVE founded by the partnership of 118 entrepreneurs with the objective of making Ankara the capital of Health Tourism, under the auspices of Tourism Development Foundation in 2012.
During the designing stage of the project, it was carried out in collaboration with Aysegul Balkan Architecture. The project area is located in the east of Salt Lake. Sun disc icon was the symbol of the Hittite and Ankara for many years and with this in mind a form was proposed since the function areas dominate the landscape in terms of setting.
In the center, for daily and long term tourists, accommodation areas around the treatment center where clinics and intensive care units are located, shared social areas, connected to accommodation areas, where people could develop dexterity and read, rehabilitation areas
including functions such as Salt rooms, spas and therapy pools, mud baths, Turkish bath, social and recreational areas were proposed. In the facility, there are also hiking trails integrated with sheltered but scenery and other activities in accordance with climatic conditions, agricultural land for patients as recreational purposes that could also meet the organic fruits and vegetables needs of the facility, animal areas where animals could be fed and which could meet the meat, milk, poultry, eggs needs of the facility organically, car park and heliport.
In Koretem - Accommodation Rehabilitation Treatment Center Project, usage of renewable energy sources (solar, wind, soil, etc.) with the analysis of the land, reduction of resource usage, energy-efficient design, the protection and enhancement of the natural environment, providing the highest level of human health and comfort through appropriate internal climate and acoustic conditions, observance of the socio-cultural and political conditions and ensuring transportation facilities were targeted. In this respect, integrated design methods and a combination of all approaches are planned by optimizing many systems for ever-changing environmental conditions.
